Overhead (OH) & Underground (UG) Cabling Operative (PIA)

Full Time, Perm

As an OH and UG cabling operative, you are responsible for installing Fibre optic cables overhead on poles and in underground ducting.

You will help by:
Having experience working with Fibre Optics products.
Attending sites and provide overhead and underground copper and fibre cabling.
Blowing fibre using fibre blowing technology.
Working at heights and in the UG network whilst adhering to Health and Safety legislation.
You will need:
Have extensive experience of working on the Openreach network.
Hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on your licence.
Hold a valid NRSWA street works operative to a minimum of Unit 2.
Hold or have held Openreach safety, overhead and underground cabling accreditation modules.
Be confident with working at heights.
Have exposure to risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety practices.

TRR / Subducting Engineer

Full Time, Perm

As a Test Rod and Roping/Subducting crew, you will play a critical part by ensuring that all duct route within the build is proved and ready for cabling.

You will help by:
Attending sites and test rodding underground infrastructure.
Installing of Rope and Blown Fibre Tubing (BFT).
Reading PN/Pon maps and evaluating what is required and where.
Producing A55 blockage reports.
Producing box to box sheets and daily measurements.
You will need:
Minimum of 1 year experience working in Telecoms.
Unit 2 street works (SLG).
SA002 underground safety.
CSCS card (desirable)
Being physically fit as this is a demanding role
Full UK Driving License.

Fibre Splicer

Full Time, Perm

As a Fibre Splicer, you will be responsible for splicing and testing on existing and new build networks to specific customer specifications. This will include external and internal work.

You will help by:
Carrying out risk assessments prior to work.
Installing, splicing and securing fibre distribution points either underground or mounted on telegraph poles.
Interpreting job packs and fibre allocation tables.
Installing and splice splitters in broadband cabinets using automatic fusion splicer.
Photographing completed fibre distribution points both inside the closure and externally showing position on chamber or on pole.
Working safely using gate guards and signage as appropriate.
Taking responsibility for tools issued and vehicle assigned in accordance with our vehicle policy.
Carrying out acceptance testing using OTDR/IOLM, light source and power meter.
Tracing and rectifying any faults found.
Performing any other duties as reasonably requested
You will need:
Able to work well with others.
Excellent organisation skills.
Clear and concise communicator.
Have a proven track record of fibre optic splicing.
Conversant with principles and standards for Passive Optical Networks.
Knowledge and experience of working to BT Openreach standards and processes for underground safety, working at height and confined spaces.
NSRWA Unit 2 Signage, guarding and light.
IPAF MEWP Mobile Boom B3. (desirable)
Current qualification to work on BT Network or equivalent.
Full clean driving license.

Fibre Operative

Full Time, Perm

We are looking for a number of Fibre Operatives, working as either Fibre Cablers or Fibre Blowers. Fibre Cabler: Installing and preparing fibre optic cables. Fibre Blower:Test Rod and Roping (TRR), Subducting, Duct Integrity Testing (DIT) including labelling and cabinet backboard fitting, Fibre Blowing.

You will help by:
Installation of underground communications network.
Pressure testing (Fibre Blower).
Fault-finding, diagnose and rectify faults by using various methods (Fibre Blower).
Labelling each cable to the correct residence (Fibre Blower).
Ensuring the back board is left tidy (Fibre Blower).
Cabling of fibre optic cables (Fibre Cabler).
Installation of Blown Fibre Tubing (Fibre Cabler).
Blowing fibre using fibre blowing technology (Fibre Cabler).
Installing, troubleshooting and maintaining fibre optic facilities.
Complying with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to company.
Troubleshooting technical issues swiftly and accurately.
Conducting rodding and roping.
Reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to management.
Willing to work in all weather conditions.
Preforming any other duties as reasonably requested.
Flexibility with regards to work duties, locations and hours when required including out of hours.
You will need:
Ability to work as part of a team.
Excellent communication both oral and written.
Health and safety mindset.
Ability to use own initiative.
Experience working with design schematics, duct diagrams and work instructions.
Streetworks
CSCS Card (Fibre Cabler)
Full UK Driving License.
Job Related Experience.
Prior FTTP/FTTH experience.
BT accreditations

Civils Operative / GANG

Full Time, Perm

As a Civils Operative, You will be required to perform excavations, repairs and reinstatements, installation of ducting, chambers and street cabinets located within the public highway and customers premises.

You will help by:
Excavating in the highways and complying with NRSWA.
Installing new duct work and chambers.
Clearing blockages.
Rod, Rope and Testing.
Complying with Specification for Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH).
Communicating with internal and external customers and maintaining a positive, professional image of the Company.
You will need:
Hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on your licence.
Hold valid NRSWA street works Operative units 1 to 9 including the Openreach Civils accreditation modules.
Be competent in the use of mechanical Civils equipment.
Be conversant with risk assessments and hazard identification and have a strong focus on Health and Safety practices.
